My first years of human existence were in 1988, Minas Gerais, Brazil, a wild chapter where endless stories dwell. I left my homeland at 18 to pursue a creative career in the European world of Design and Communication.
Suddenly, it was 20 years of a successful career as a Creative / Art Director between cloudy London and sunny California when an inner calling disruptively invited me to break free from the advertising world and devote my creativity to my craft, in absolute freedom. And I did.
A blind leap took me to move to Mexico, where I built my first Studio and began to explore Art as a question.
As I immersed myself in textures, symbols, and colors imprinted on canvas, it became not just my craft but an initiation into the wordless language of my subconscious. My feelings and virtues eventually became Art pieces that speak about the paradoxes of life.
When I listened to that inner calling of contributing to the realm of Art, perhaps I expected to receive an answer. Yet, after a long period of complete devotion to my work, I came to realise that Art remains an ongoing question, and just like life, it always will.
A visual language that renders a narrative of the subconscious, translated into fluid forms, textures, and colours. Which mirror life’s impermanence and the changing nature of emotions.
In my paintings, the ever-changing flow, texture, and freedom represent reality, life itself, full of movement and unpredictability, much of it beyond our control. The symbology, on the other hand, are intention: solid, structured points we choose to give meaning within that flow. In this interplay, we navigate life’s shifting nature by grounding ourselves in the symbols we create. Life is both changing and structured, and in that contrast, I leave space for the viewer’s own interpretation.
